Dodger’s Legendary Broadcaster Jaime Jarrin to Receive the LA Press Club’s Public Service Award
Dodger’s Spanish voice Jaime Jarrin has been named 2017’s Los Angeles Press Club Bill Rosendahl Public Service Awardee for Contributions to Civic Life
Baseball Hall of Famer Jarrin has served as the Dodger’s Spanish language announcer since 1959. With the retirement of his mentor and friend Vin Scully, Jarrin is currently the dean of major league announcers.
Jarrin, originally from Ecuador, has been instrumental in building the Dodger’s popularity among the Latino Community.
The Public Service Award will be presented at the 59th SoCal Journalism Awards Gala on Sunday, June 25th at the Biltmore Millennium Hotel, downtown LA. Jarrin will be introduced by his son, fellow broadcaster Jorge Jarrin.
